Renowned Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar expressed deep emotions as he honored the legendary singer Asha Bhosle, who passed away at the age of 92 on Sunday at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital. Accompanied by his wife, Anjali, Sachin was visibly moved as he reflected on the end of an extraordinary musical journey that lasted over eight decades.
Final Rites and Condolences
Dr. Prateet Samdani from Breach Candy Hospital confirmed that the iconic singer succumbed to organ failure after battling various health complications. Her son, Anand Bhosle, announced the news and provided details regarding the final rites, stating, "My mother passed away today. People can pay their last respects to her at 11 am tomorrow at Casa Grande, Lower Parel, where she lived. Her last rites will be conducted at 4 pm tomorrow at Shivaji Park."
As news of her demise spread, numerous prominent figures from the film industry and politics visited her residence in Mumbai to pay their respects. Notable visitors included Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar, and veteran actress Shabana Azmi.
Asha Bhosle had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday evening due to severe exhaustion and a chest infection.

Asha Bhosle is celebrated as one of the most versatile singers in Indian music history, with a repertoire that includes classical pieces, ghazals, cabaret songs, and modern pop. She holds a Guinness World Record for the highest number of studio recordings and, alongside her sister Lata Mangeshkar, played a pivotal role in shaping the golden age of Hindi film music.
Born to classical singer and theatre actor Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar, Asha began her musical career early and established an unmatched legacy. Her collaborations with composer RD Burman, whom she later married, are among the most revered in Indian cinema.
Some of her iconic songs include "Piya Tu Ab To Aaja" and the rebellious anthem "Dum Maro Dum." Her diverse range encompasses the soulful ghazal "Dil Cheez Kya Hai" to playful classics like "Chura Liya Hai Tumne" and the timeless dance hit "Yeh Mera Dil."
