Former Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has expressed admiration for Kane Williamson, calling him a 'true gentleman and an exemplary role model for the youth' following the New Zealand cricketer's unexpected retirement from international cricket on Friday. In a message shared on X, Tendulkar highlighted Williamson's technical prowess and elegance as a batsman, noting his exceptional balance, timing, and composed demeanor at the crease. He remarked, 'Since my early days in cricket, Kane Williamson has stood out as one of the most technically proficient and remarkable batsmen I've encountered. His balance, timing, and signature calmness at the crease have made his batting a consistently delightful experience in the world of cricket.
