Significant Meeting Between Congress Leaders

On Saturday, Sachin Pilot, the National General Secretary of Congress, met with former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. During this meeting, Pilot extended an invitation to Gehlot for a program commemorating the 25th death anniversary of his father, Rajesh Pilot, a former Union Minister.

Gehlot shared a video of their meeting on social media, stating, 'Sachin Pilot, General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), visited my residence to invite me to the program honoring the 25th death anniversary of Rajesh Pilot.'

He further expressed, 'Rajesh Pilot and I first entered the Lok Sabha together in 1980 and served as MPs for nearly 18 years. The sorrow of his untimely passing still lingers with us. His departure was a significant loss for the party.'

In a similar vein, Pilot also posted a picture from their meeting on social media, mentioning, 'I met with former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today to invite him to the tribute ceremony for my father, Rajesh Pilot, scheduled for June 11 in Dausa.'

It is noteworthy that following the political crisis faced by Gehlot's government in Rajasthan in 2020, the relationship between Pilot and Gehlot has not been smooth. This marks their first public meeting in recent years.
