S8UL Secures Spot in Pokemon UNITE World Championship
S8UL, a prominent name in the Esports arena, has solidified its position as India's top Pokemon UNITE team by clinching victory in the India Qualifier for the Pokemon UNITE World Championship Series 2026. This win allows them to represent India at the esteemed World Championships in San Francisco, where elite teams will compete for a total prize pool of USD 500,000 (approximately INR 4.7 crore) from August 28 to 30, according to a press release.
Historic Achievement for S8UL
This victory marks the fourth occasion that S8UL will represent India at this global event, a record unmatched by any other Indian team. Notably, S8UL has triumphed in four out of five Indian qualifiers held for this global competition, showcasing their consistent dominance in the game.
S8UL's Performance in the India Qualifier
The India Qualifier utilized a double-elimination format, with matches played as best-of-three series, except for the grand finals, which were best-of-five. Under the leadership of Captain Manmohan Singh (All Might), the S8UL team, including Anklesh Satelkar (Novaa), Darshan Nate (Kai), Naitik Jain (Wolf), and Md Sarim Hasan (Qing), displayed exceptional skill throughout the tournament. They commenced their journey with a decisive 2-0 win against Anti Secure in the upper bracket quarterfinals, followed by identical 2-0 victories over GodLike and Team QML in the semifinals and finals, respectively.
Thrilling Grand Finals
In the grand finals, S8UL faced off against Revenant XSpark in an exhilarating five-game series. Demonstrating their composure and experience, S8UL secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory, earning them the championship title.
Prize Money and Recognition
For their outstanding performance, S8UL received USD 15,000 (around INR 14.1 lakh) from the overall prize pool of USD 25,000 (approximately INR 23.5 lakh).

Their BGMI roster won the BGMI India Series (BGIS) 2026, while the MOBA Legends 5v5 team triumphed at the Rai Star x Gyan Gaming Cup. Grandmaster Nihal Sarin achieved a significant international victory at the Menorca Open, and the VALORANT team won the VCSA Split 1. Additionally, S8UL's Honor of Kings team claimed the Kings Arise India City Tour - Mumbai title, and their Apex Legends roster achieved a historic Top 5 finish at the global ALGS 2026 Championship, marking the best result by an Indian organization in this title.

S8UL aims to qualify across 13 titles for the EWC 2026, including Apex Legends, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), Call of Duty: Warzone, Chess, EA Sports FC, FATAL FURY, Fortnite, Honor of Kings, MOBA Legends 5V5, PUBG: Battlegrounds, Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, and Trackmania.
