Criticism of CJP Protests
Atul Limaye, a prominent figure in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has labeled the protests led by the Cockroach People's Party (CJP) at Delhi's Jantar Mantar as 'unconstitutional' and 'anti-national.' He urged right-wing allies to analyze this movement as a case study to understand how an initiative that began with good intentions has deviated from its original path. Limaye acknowledged that while the initial concerns raised by students were valid and natural, the protests eventually transformed into a well-organized movement with significant political objectives. He noted that this demonstration effectively tested the concept of alternative politics promoted by leftist groups.
Concerns Over Movement's Deviation
While addressing a gathering of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Limaye referenced B.R. Ambedkar's speech on the 'Grammar of Anarchy,' warning against anarchists long ago. He stated, 'The protests initiated due to paper leaks aimed to rectify flaws in the education system... but they have fallen into the wrong hands, even though students are naturally inclined towards nation-building. The ABVP must work to channel this student energy towards the goal of nation-building.'
Need for Analysis of the Movement
Limaye called for a thorough analysis of the CJP protests, asserting that the movement should be decoded, with a detailed examination of its timeline, methodologies, support systems, and motivations. He remarked, 'After June 20, the movement expanded and garnered substantial support. What transpired after Deepke's arrival? Which systems participated in the protests? This needs to be revealed. The organizations backing the movement largely lean towards leftist ideologies that adopt the perspective of 'India will be divided,' he stated, emphasizing that while the movement began with noble intentions, it strayed from its course after leftist elements became involved.
Efforts to Undermine Democracy
Limaye argued that ultimately, various civil society, labor, and political groups participated in this protest to promote the idea of weakening democracy through democratic means.
