RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Highlights India's Growing Global Influence
Mohan Bhagwat's Remarks on India's Position in the World
On Monday, Mohan Bhagwat, the leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), emphasized that global leaders pay close attention when Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks. He attributed this to India's emerging strength and its rightful place on the world stage. Speaking at an event in Pune to commemorate the centenary of the RSS, Bhagwat urged that significant occasions like anniversaries should not merely be celebrated, but rather, the focus should be on accomplishing the tasks at hand within the designated timeframe.
Reflections on Unity and Challenges
Bhagwat remarked, "The RSS has faced numerous challenges and weathered many storms over the past century, but it is now time for introspection on why it has taken so long to unite society." He noted that it is commonly believed that as India progresses, global issues tend to resolve, conflicts diminish, and peace prevails.
The Call for Action
He stated, "This is recorded in history, and we must bring it to fruition again. The current global circumstances demand it from India, which is why RSS volunteers have been committed to this mission from day one." Highlighting the sacrifices of RSS founder Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, Bhagwat mentioned that the journey of RSS volunteers began amidst numerous obstacles to fulfill their mission.
The Journey of RSS Volunteers
Recalling the early days of the organization, he noted that there was no guarantee of positive outcomes from their efforts. Bhagwat expressed, "They (RSS volunteers) sowed the seeds of success and paved the way for change through their dedication. We should be grateful to them."
India's Rising Global Stature
Discussing India's increasing prominence on the global stage, Bhagwat questioned why Prime Minister Modi is being listened to so attentively worldwide. He explained, "It is because India's strength is now manifesting in places where it should rightfully be recognized, capturing the world's attention."
A Lesson in Timing
Sharing an anecdote, Bhagwat recalled being told that the RSS arrived 30 years late. He responded, "We did not arrive late; rather, you have only just begun to listen to us." He emphasized that when the RSS speaks of dialogue and collective action, it refers to the entire society.
Unity in Diversity
Bhagwat concluded by stating, "Our foundation lies in unity amidst diversity. We must move forward together, and for that, faith is essential." He added, "All philosophies in India have originated from the same source. Since everything is interconnected, we must progress in harmony."
