On May 9, Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma expressed his admiration for the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy as tensions escalate between India and Pakistan. This comes after the successful dismantling of terrorist camps in Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, a direct response to the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack.

In a message shared on his official X account, Sharma stated, "With each moment and decision, I feel immense pride for our Indian Armed Forces. Our warriors stand tall for the pride of our nation. Security Measures in Jammu

On the same day, a complete blackout was implemented in Jammu following reports of sirens and explosions near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch and Rajouri districts, indicating heightened tensions in the area.

The Border Security Forces (BSF) successfully thwarted a significant infiltration attempt along the International Boundary in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Indian Army's Defense Against Drone Attacks

The infiltration attempt occurred around 11 PM on May 8. The BSF Jammu reported, "At approximately 2300 hours on May 8, 2025, we foiled a major infiltration bid at the International Boundary in Samba district, J&K."

Moreover, during the night of May 8 and 9, the Indian Army effectively countered multiple drone attacks launched by Pakistan along the western border and the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.

Official Statement from the Indian Army

The Indian Army stated, "The Pakistan Armed Forces initiated multiple drone and munitions attacks along the entire Western Border on the night of May 8 and 9, 2025. Pakistani troops also engaged in numerous ceasefire violations along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir. Our forces successfully repelled the drone attacks and responded decisively to the ceasefire violations. The Indian Army is dedicated to protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation, and any malicious actions will be met with appropriate force."

Earlier, the Indian Army had reportedly downed over 50 Pakistani drones during a large-scale counter-drone operation along the LoC and International Borders.
