Rohini Acharya's Bold Challenge to RJD MP Sanjay Yadav: A Kidney Donation Debate?

Rohini Acharya Takes a Stand

Patna: Rohini Acharya, the daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, has publicly criticized Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Yadav, accusing him of disrespecting her despite her significant sacrifice of donating a kidney to her father.

In a recent post on her official X account, accompanied by an audio message, she challenged Sanjay Yadav to consider donating a kidney to someone in need.

Acharya expressed that those attempting to leverage Lalu Prasad's name for political gain should first show true compassion.

She stated, “If you wish to contribute in Lalu's name, stop pretending to care and instead donate your kidneys to the countless impoverished individuals who are desperately ill in hospitals. Make your donations in Lalu's honor.”

Rohini also urged her critics to confront her directly, saying, “Those who criticize a daughter for donating her kidney should have the courage to debate me publicly. The act of donating kidneys should be initiated by those who label a daughter's donation as shameful, along with the so-called great men from Haryana, sycophantic journalists, and abusive trolls.”

In a pointed remark, she questioned, “How can those who hesitate to donate even a bottle of blood preach about kidney donations?”

Her comments come amid ongoing turmoil within the RJD following a recent electoral setback, with Sanjay Yadav facing backlash from party members and the Yadav family.

On November 15, following the RJD's significant loss in the Bihar Assembly elections, Rohini Acharya, who had donated a kidney to her father in 2022, left the family residence and made serious allegations before heading to Delhi.

She claimed she was threatened with physical violence at the Lalu-Rabri home and accused Tejashwi Yadav, along with his close associates Sanjay Yadav and Rameez Nemat Khan, of being behind the threats.

Rohini alleged that she was expelled from the family by Tejashwi's aides.

At Patna airport on November 15, she stated, “I no longer have a family here. Ask Sanjay Yadav, Rameez, and Tejashwi Yadav why I am leaving. They have pushed me out.”

She criticized Tejashwi's advisors for wanting to act strategically while avoiding accountability for the party's defeat.

Rohini emphasized that the public is questioning the party's current state, adding that RJD workers are scrutinizing Sanjay Yadav's involvement in the electoral loss, which led to her being threatened with defamation and abuse.

Her departure has drawn renewed scrutiny towards Sanjay Yadav, a Haryana native and RJD Rajya Sabha MP, as well as Rameez Nemat Khan, a long-time aide to Tejashwi Yadav.

Rameez, originally from Balrampur district in Uttar Pradesh, has been with the RJD since 2016.
