RJD Dissolves Organizational Units in Bihar

Patna: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has officially disbanded all its organizational structures in Bihar, which includes district, block, and panchayat committees, along with various affiliated cell units, according to a statement released by the party.

This announcement was made by RJD's state president, Mangani Lal Mandal, late Thursday night.

The move comes in the wake of the party's disappointing performance in the recent Bankipur by-election, where RJD candidate Rekha Gupta lost her deposit.

The statement emphasized, "All organizational units of the RJD (Bihar) at every level—district, block, panchayat, and all associated cells—are dissolved immediately."

It also mentioned that the reconstitution of these committees will begin promptly.

Following the Bankipur setback, tensions arose between RJD leaders Bhai Virendra and Shakti Singh Yadav, who exchanged accusations regarding the party's weakened state.

In response to the dissolution, MLA Bhai Virendra stated that this decision aims to fortify the party's structure.

He asserted that only committed and capable members would be given responsibilities moving forward, expressing confidence that an RJD government would soon emerge in Bihar.

Former minister and RJD MLA Kumar Sarvjeet echoed this sentiment, stating that restructuring the committees would undoubtedly enhance the party's strength. He emphasized the need to promote grassroots workers to significant positions within the organization.

Bihar BJP leader Mrityunjay Tiwary commented on the situation, suggesting that the RJD has internal issues, which prompted his departure from the party. He criticized RJD's national working president, Tejashwi Yadav, for surrounding himself with individuals undermining the party's integrity.

Recently, former RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari joined the BJP, recalling how he was appointed by RJD supremo Lalu Prasad in 2014 and defended the party during challenging times.
