Additionally, he received a demerit point for violating Level 1 of the IPL Code of Conduct. The league found him guilty of breaching Article 2.21 of the Code, which pertains to actions that could bring the game into disrepute. This incident occurred during the second innings when he was seen using a vape in the dressing room.
Riyan Parag's Contract with Rajasthan Royals
Reports indicate that Rajasthan Royals signed Riyan Parag for ₹14 crores this season, translating to approximately ₹1 crore per match. Therefore, the 25% fine amounts to around ₹25 lakhs. Given that this is considered a first-time offense, this fine is substantial. The IPL's stringent action aims to prevent similar incidents in the future.
