Raja Shivaji's Impressive Box Office Debut

Ritesh Deshmukh's highly anticipated film, Raja Shivaji, made a remarkable entry at the box office upon its release on May 1. Based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, this grand historical film has garnered immense love from audiences, raking in nearly ₹33 crores within just three days of its release.

Amidst the film's success, Ritesh Deshmukh made a significant revelation, stating that all the artists involved in the project worked without any remuneration. He emphasized that this film is not merely a project but a tribute to Maharaj. Ritesh also mentioned that prior to production, he extensively studied various books related to Shivaji Maharaj, as encapsulating his vast history in a single film was quite challenging.


Ritesh shared that Salman Khan, a close friend, played a special role in the film, portraying the character of Jiva Mahale, Shivaji Maharaj's bodyguard. Abhishek Bachchan takes on the role of Sambhaji Shahaji Bhosale, while Sanjay Dutt appears as Afzal Khan.


The film features several other prominent actors, including Vidya Balan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Boman Irani, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Amol Gupte, and Genelia Deshmukh.


In addition to his lead role, Ritesh Deshmukh has been actively involved in the film's production. The film is presented by Jio Studios and produced under the banner of Mumbai Film Company, with Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh overseeing production.
