Rising Domestic Conflicts Lead to Tragic Suicides and Murders Across India

Increasing Incidents of Domestic Violence

Recent times have witnessed a troubling surge in severe cases of suicide and murder linked to domestic disputes and mental stress. From Solapur in Maharashtra to Bengaluru and Muzaffarnagar, family conflicts have shattered many once-happy households.

On Thursday, authorities reported that a 34-year-old security guard in Solapur allegedly took his own life after poisoning his three minor children. This tragic incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the village of Tirhe.

Children in Critical Condition

The deceased has been identified as Bhima Anna Waghmare, who worked as a security guard for a cement company. Officials stated that the children have been admitted to a government hospital in Solapur, where they are currently in critical condition in the ICU.

According to police, Waghmare was under significant mental strain due to domestic issues, as his wife had left him to stay with her parents. Despite attempts by relatives to mediate, she reportedly refused to return.

Initial reports suggest that Waghmare took his children to a field near Valsang, where he allegedly poisoned them before consuming the poison himself. The police confirmed that the children are still receiving treatment, and an investigation into the case is ongoing.

Murder-Suicide in Muzaffarnagar

In another shocking incident, on March 31, a 32-year-old man in Muzaffarnagar's Sarwat allegedly murdered his wife and their two young children before committing suicide at their home. The victims have been identified as Irshad (32), his wife Noreen (30), their two-year-old son Ahil, and their two-month-old daughter Aksha.

Police reported that all four bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar indicated that preliminary investigations suggest the incident followed a domestic dispute. Relatives informed authorities that a quarrel had erupted between the couple over Eid gifts for Irshad's sister, Shaheen.

Software Engineer's Suicide After Family Dispute

In yet another distressing case, police revealed on Wednesday that a 35-year-old software engineer in Bengaluru, identified as Sushma, allegedly took her own life following a domestic argument at her home in Abigere, near the Soladevanahalli police lines. Authorities have registered the case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Sushma, who previously worked at Dell, had been married to Puneet Kumar for five years, and the couple had a four-year-old son. According to police, frequent disputes arose over trivial matters in their household. On Tuesday, Sushma reportedly had a disagreement with her mother-in-law, Kalpana, regarding cooking.

Sushma's family has accused her mother-in-law of repeatedly preventing her from cooking and harassing her over various issues. Police stated that overwhelmed by this ongoing situation, Sushma allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself.
