Escalating Conflict in Lebanon

According to the Health Ministry in Beirut, the number of Lebanese fatalities resulting from Israeli airstrikes has tragically risen to 2,196. This figure includes 260 women and 172 children, highlighting the severe impact of the ongoing conflict that reignited on March 2 between Israel and Hezbollah. Additionally, the ministry reported that 7,185 individuals have sustained injuries during this period.

The recent surge in military actions by Israel was triggered by Hezbollah's rocket attacks aimed at northern Israel, which were launched in support of Iran, their significant ally.

In a notable development, Lebanon and Israel initiated direct negotiations on Tuesday, marking the first such discussions since 1993.
