Rishabh Pant's Injury Update: What Happened During the Third Test Against England?

Rishabh Pant's Injury During the Test Match
London: Rishabh Pant, the Indian wicketkeeper, is currently receiving medical attention after leaving the field during the second session of Day 1 in the third Test against England. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the news on Thursday.
According to the BCCI, Pant suffered an injury to his left index finger and is being closely monitored by the medical staff. Dhruv Jurel has stepped in as the wicketkeeper in Pant's absence.
The BCCI's statement noted, "Rishabh Pant was struck on his left index finger and is undergoing treatment while being supervised by the medical team. Dhruv Jurel is now keeping wickets for the team."
Jurel, who was not part of the playing XI for this Test, replaced Pant after initial on-field treatment failed to alleviate the pain.
The injury occurred when Pant attempted to dive and stop a delivery from Jasprit Bumrah that veered down the leg side during the 34th over. Although he managed to touch the ball, he could not prevent it from reaching the boundary, allowing England's Joe Root and Ollie Pope to run a couple of runs.
Play was briefly halted as Pant received assistance from the Indian support staff, but he continued to show signs of discomfort when the game resumed.
Ultimately, Pant exited the field after Bumrah's over, with Jurel taking over wicketkeeping duties.
