Rishabh Pant Addresses Exit Rumors from Lucknow Super Giants

Rishabh Pant Responds to Speculation About His Future
Rishabh Pant, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), has firmly addressed rumors regarding his potential departure from the team following a disappointing performance in the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The team faced a critical match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at their home ground, Ekana Stadium, where a win was essential to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Unfortunately, a loss would mean the end of their campaign in the group stage.
In a disappointing turn of events, the Super Giants were outplayed, with Sunrisers successfully chasing down a target of 206 runs, securing a six-wicket victory and ending LSG's season on a sour note.
Amidst growing criticism, Pant's struggles mirrored the team's overall performance. Following LSG's exit from the tournament, speculation arose about the franchise's plans to release their high-profile signing, who was acquired for Rs 27 crore.
Pant dismissed these rumors as 'fake news' in a straightforward response on social media, stating, 'I understand fake news generates more traction. However, let’s not build everything around it. A little sense and credible news will be more beneficial than spreading fake news with an agenda. Thank you, and have a good day. Let’s be responsible and sensible about what we share on social media.'
This IPL season was expected to be a fresh start for Pant after he was dropped from India's ODI lineup during their victorious Champions Trophy campaign. However, the 27-year-old struggled throughout the season, scoring only 135 runs in 12 matches at a disappointing average of 12.27 and a strike rate barely reaching 100. In the crucial match against Sunrisers, he scored just 7 runs off 6 balls before being caught by Eshan Malinga.
Pant's best performance this season came against the struggling Chennai Super Kings, where he managed to score 63 runs off 49 balls.
