What is VitalID Technology?
Researchers from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Temple University, and Texas A&M University collaborated to create this technology. It utilizes vibrations caused by breathing and heartbeats, which travel from the neck to the head.

No New Hardware Required

According to Yingying Chen, a computer engineer at Rutgers University, this technology is entirely software-based. Existing extended reality (XR) headsets, such as Meta Quest or Oculus, already have motion sensors capable of detecting these subtle vibrations.

Impenetrable Security
The researchers conducted tests on 52 individuals over ten months, finding that VitalID accurately identified the correct user over 95% of the time and successfully blocked unauthorized access in 98% of cases. Notably, even if someone attempts to mimic your breathing pattern, they cannot replicate the vibrations produced by your bones.
