Review of Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Emphasis on Cooperative Initiatives

In a recent meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) held at Bachat Bhawan, Lok Sabha MP Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj led discussions on the advancement of centrally sponsored schemes and provided essential directives to officials.

Dr. Bhardwaj emphasized the critical role of the cooperative sector in fostering self-employment and enhancing the rural economy. He urged officials to ensure the effective and timely execution of cooperative initiatives, aiming to involve more individuals with cooperative organizations to broaden livelihood opportunities.

The meeting included a review of various development initiatives such as the Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, National Health Mission, PM Adarsh Gram Yojana, social pension schemes, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Samagra Shiksha, and MPLAD.

He pointed out that transferring the Chakki–Chamba–Bharmaur National Highway to the NHAI would expedite the double-lane construction and enhance road connectivity. Additionally, he expressed concern over the sluggish progress of the centrally funded RDSS scheme aimed at improving the district's power supply, instructing RVNL to accelerate the work. He reminded that ₹90 crore is allocated for RDSS, and timely benefits must be delivered to the community.

Dr. Bhardwaj also instructed officials to prepare and submit the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Ravi Riverfront development plan to the central government via the state, assuring that necessary funding support would be provided.

Present at the meeting were MLAs Dr. Hans Raj and D.S. Thakur, along with senior officials from various departments. Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal welcomed the attendees and provided updates on administrative initiatives.
