Pilgrims Arrive Back in Rajasthan
In Rajasthan, the return of pilgrims from the Hajj 2025 journey has commenced. On Tuesday, a flight carrying 164 pilgrims, including 81 women and 83 men, landed at Terminal 1 of Jaipur's Sanganer International Airport. The returning pilgrims were warmly welcomed by officials, members of the Rajasthan State Hajj Committee, and their families.
This inaugural flight arrived from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and is part of a total of 17 flights scheduled to bring back pilgrims until June 29. Each flight has a capacity of 165 passengers. Speaking to a news outlet, Fattu Khan, a pilgrim from Alwar, expressed his satisfaction, stating, "It was very good, it was excellent. People are saying that the arrangements were so good for the first time, and the air conditioning worked well throughout the journey. We had heard it was very hot, but we didn't feel it at all."
Another pilgrim from Alwar remarked, "It was a very good journey. Everyone received excellent facilities, and the travel experience was pleasant. It is a matter of great joy." Some pilgrims mentioned that they prayed for peace in the world due to the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. Hajj pilgrim Abdul Ghafoor stated, "We prayed for peace, especially for our country. May peace prevail in our nation and the rest of the world."
Earlier, a Saudi Airlines flight arriving at Lucknow Airport was found to be emitting smoke, prompting the arrival of rescue and firefighting teams to ensure the smoke was controlled and the aircraft was unharmed, as reported by Lucknow airport officials on Monday. According to officials, there were no casualties in this incident that occurred on the morning of June 15. Passengers were safely evacuated, and airport operations were not affected. The flight was returning from Jeddah.
A plane carrying Hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia was observed emitting smoke and sparks from its wheels shortly after landing and while taxiing. In Islam, fulfilling five duties (pillars) is mandatory for every individual, one of which is Hajj. This year's Hajj took place in Saudi Arabia from June 4 to June 9. The first batch of Hajj pilgrims from India began their journey in early May. According to Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, a total of 122,518 Hajj pilgrims undertook the sacred journey, with the first flights departing from Lucknow and Hyderabad.
