Tragic Discovery in Kochi

In Kochi, Kerala, the lifeless body of a retired teacher was discovered in a house located in Ponnekkara, covered in blood. Authorities reported this incident on Saturday.


The deceased has been identified as Vanja C.R., aged 70.


According to police reports, Vanja lived with her nephew, who found her bleeding inside the home around 9 PM on Friday night. An official stated that upon receiving the alert, law enforcement arrived at the scene and observed multiple injuries on the body.


Additionally, a knife was found near the corpse.


Initial investigations revealed that Vanja had a severed wrist vein, and it remains unclear whether this incident was a suicide or a homicide. Authorities also noted that Vanja owned a pet dog, which typically stayed indoors but was seen roaming the streets on Friday.


Ongoing Investigation

The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from neighboring houses, and forensic experts have conducted an examination of the residence. The exact cause of death will be determined following a post-mortem examination. The Elamakkara police have registered a case of unnatural death and have commenced their investigation.
