The accused, a 55-year-old retired army personnel, was living with the victim, who is 22 years old and currently residing in her in-laws' house while her husband prepares for competitive exams in Jaipur. The victim's mother-in-law is the head of the Khairabad committee and is often away for work, leaving her alone with her father-in-law.

The victim expressed that she had been feeling uncomfortable due to her father-in-law's inappropriate behavior for some time. Initially, she tried to ignore his actions, but they escalated over time. The situation became intolerable when he attempted to assault her. After managing to free herself, she fled the scene.

Family's Reaction and Police Action

Following the incident, the victim went to the police station to file a complaint. However, she claimed that there was a delay in the arrest of the accused despite her report being filed. After returning to her parental home, she continued to seek justice. Last week, her family submitted a memorandum to the SDM demanding the arrest of the accused. Frustrated by the delay, the victim and her family staged a protest outside the SDM office on Tuesday. The pressure from the protest led to the police finally arresting the accused and initiating further legal proceedings.
