Resignations Shake Ram Temple Trust
In a significant development amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding donations for the Ram Temple, two members of the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust have stepped down. Reports indicate that Champat Rai, the general secretary of the trust, has resigned, along with Anil Mishra. This resignation comes at a time when an FIR has been filed regarding allegations of donation misappropriation, leading to the arrest of eight individuals.
The police confirmed that an FIR was lodged against eight individuals in connection with alleged financial irregularities linked to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Following this, all accused were taken into custody. Police sources stated this confirmation on Friday.

According to police sources, after completing legal procedures, the accused will be presented before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court in Faizabad for judicial remand. Gaurav Grover, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Ayodhya, mentioned that the accused are currently in police custody, where they are being interrogated. Grover added that they would be brought before the court following the questioning.

Police sources revealed that based on a complaint filed by trust member Krishna Mohan, an FIR was registered at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi police station on Thursday against Ramshankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav, Anukalp Mishra, Avinash Shukla, Karunesh Pandey, Lavkush Mishra, Ramashankar Mishra, Subhash Srivastava, and Manish Kumar Yadav, along with some unidentified individuals. The police noted that a preliminary report submitted to the government by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on June 23 recommended strict action, prompting this legal action. Various charges, including theft, criminal breach of trust, and criminal conspiracy, have been filed under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Following the emergence of allegations regarding the theft of donations and offerings at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the trust requested a special investigation, leading to the formation of the SIT on June 13 under the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
