The Secretary of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), A. Shankar, along with Treasurer E.S. Jayaram, has stepped down from their positions. They have accepted moral responsibility for the stampede that occurred outside Chinnaswamy Stadium during the celebration of RCB's IPL 2025 victory, which tragically resulted in the loss of 11 lives.


Legal Actions and Court Relief

Just a day prior, KSCA and RCB approached the Karnataka High Court regarding the FIR filed in connection with the stampede. The court granted interim protection to the KSCA officials, shielding them from arrest. However, this led to the resignation of the Secretary and Treasurer of the Karnataka Cricket Association.
