Resignation of Senior Officials at KSCA

After the celebration of the Royal Challengers Bangalore's IPL victory, two senior officials from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), Secretary A. Shankar and Treasurer E.S. Jayaram, have stepped down from their positions. They submitted their resignations to the KSCA president, taking moral responsibility for the tragic stampede in Bengaluru that resulted in the loss of 11 lives. Prior to this, KSCA President Raghuram Bhat, Secretary A. Shankar, and Treasurer E.S. Jayaram had approached the Karnataka High Court, asserting that crowd and gate management were not the association's responsibility.

They had sought permission to celebrate RCB's IPL victory at Vidhana Soudha, which was conducted without any major issues. However, a tragic incident occurred outside M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, where millions of fans gathered in response to an invitation posted by RCB on social media, which was later deleted. The uncontrolled crowd led to a stampede that claimed 11 lives, resulting in the cancellation of the victory parade, while the event inside the stadium continued despite the tragedy.
