Growing Demand for Direct Bus Service

Churu, March 6, 2026 — The residents of Jodi village in Churu district are intensifying their long-standing demand for a direct bus service to Jaipur operated by the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC).

During a recent meeting of the Udaan Youth Mandal in Jodi, this issue was thoroughly discussed. Member Ravi Anand mentioned that local MLA Har Lal Saharan had previously assured that bus services on the Jaipur and Bikaner routes would be extended to Jodi village, but no concrete action has been taken so far. The youth have decided to submit a memorandum to the road transport officials and the MLA again soon.

Villagers express that the current travel arrangement requires them to first reach the nearest bus stand, such as Churu or others, to catch a bus to Jaipur, which increases time, costs, and inconvenience. This situation particularly affects students, the elderly, patients, and those traveling for work or business.

One villager stated, “Without a direct bus from our village to Jaipur, we have to catch a bus in Churu or other locations, making it a long journey. If a direct bus were available, daily travel would become much easier.”

This demand arises at a time when the state government is focusing on enhancing rural transport. Recently, the road transport department launched over 350 new rural routes under the 'Aapni Bus' scheme and is in the process of adding more than 1,000 new buses. The Churu depot has also recently received new buses, raising hopes that villages like Jodi may be prioritized.

Youth platform officials Anuj Swami, Ashok Swami, Surendra Singh, Madan Goswami, and others stated that this service would be a boon not only for Jodi but also for many surrounding villages. They are optimistic that the road transport administration and the government will take positive steps regarding this demand soon.

If this demand is met, residents of Jodi village will benefit from a direct, safe, and affordable travel option to Jaipur.
