Critical Road Issues in Daringbadi

Residents of Alanjori village in the Kandhamal district are expressing serious concerns regarding a deteriorating 600-meter stretch of road managed by the Brahmanigaon panchayat in the Daringbadi block.

The situation has worsened due to heavy rainfall, leading to significant disruptions in daily activities, according to local sources.

Community members report that students are frequently slipping and falling while trying to navigate the muddy and damaged road. They emphasize that this not only hampers educational access but also endangers lives during medical emergencies, as ambulances find it challenging to reach the area.

An all-weather road was constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana to connect Ganjam district via the Alanjori-Dangesi route. However, the crucial 600-meter section in Alanjori remains unfinished, as noted by local sources.

During the monsoon season, this incomplete stretch becomes nearly impassable, severely disrupting connectivity and daily travel.

This road is vital not only for Alanjori but also for surrounding villages in Kandhamal and Rayagada districts. The ongoing transportation issues for people, goods, and services are causing rising frustration among residents.

Villagers have issued a warning that they will protest on the National Highway if the incomplete road section is not addressed promptly.
