Rescue Efforts Ongoing for Boy Who Fell into Open Sewer in Delhi

Search Operation in Vasant Kunj

On July 31, a young boy tragically fell into an open sewer in the Vasant Kunj locality of Southwest Delhi. Following the incident, authorities initiated a search operation that has continued for more than 24 hours, with rescue teams working diligently to find him.


As reported by local media, divers from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were called in to assist in the rescue. The Delhi Police and Delhi Fire Services also joined the efforts, providing crucial support at the scene.


Witnesses, including several local children, alerted the authorities after seeing the boy fall into the drain in Rajouri, West Delhi, at approximately 1:24 PM.


A team from the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), which included an officer-in-charge and three divers, was present to facilitate the operation. Furthermore, officials from the Municipal Corporation and four sanitation workers were deployed to help with the rescue.


To enhance the operation, an earthmover was brought in to remove sewage and debris, making the search easier.
