Protesters Return to Jantar Mantar After Police Clashes
Following violent confrontations, the Delhi police had to clear Jantar Mantar, but just a day later, members of the 'Cockroach People's Party' (CJP) returned to the protest site late Monday night to resume their demonstrations in the capital. While the police allowed peaceful gatherings, security measures were significantly heightened due to concerns that protesters might attempt to march towards Parliament again. This new wave of protests comes in the wake of violence on Monday, which resulted in injuries to over 100 police and paramilitary personnel, leading to multiple FIRs against the rioters. According to police reports, after the area was cleared following the day-long violence, protesters began to regroup at Jantar Mantar late Monday night. Officials stated that peaceful demonstrators would not be obstructed, but warned of strict action against any attempts to disrupt law and order. To maintain control, a heavy deployment of security personnel has been established around the protest site. Police have reported the detention of approximately 70 protesters, and legal proceedings have commenced. Saurav Das, the main spokesperson for CJP, mentioned that they presented three demands to Nadda, including the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and a compensation of 1 crore rupees for the families of students preparing for NEET, over 20 of whom lost their lives.

Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, announced the launch of a helpline number, 8588833548, aimed at providing medical assistance to injured protesters and legal support to the families of detained students. During a press conference, Kejriwal expressed outrage over the brutality faced by young protesters, stating, 'The treatment of our children by the Modi government is reminiscent of how the British treated freedom fighters.' He highlighted a video showing police attacking girls and students without provocation.
