Renault Duster Makes a Comeback in the SUV Segment
The Renault Duster is once again making headlines in the SUV market. The company has already launched the new Duster in India with a petrol engine, and now it is set to introduce the Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 powertrain. According to Renault India, the hybrid variant is expected to be available around Diwali 2026.
Hybrid System with 1.8-Liter Petrol Engine
The Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 of the new Duster will feature a 1.8-liter petrol engine paired with a 1.4 kWh battery pack. It will come equipped with two electric motors and an 8-speed DHT system. The company claims that this powertrain will operate in electric mode approximately 80% of the time, emphasizing fuel efficiency.
Robust SUV Design
The design of the new Duster is more modern and rugged than before. It includes a sculpted front, signature grille, LED headlights, and LED daytime running lights. According to the company, the SUV boasts a ground clearance of 212 mm, with select variants offering features like an electric panoramic sunroof and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Premium Features Inside
The higher variants of the new Duster come with a 10.1-inch openR link multimedia system, which includes Google built-in, navigation, and voice control features. Additionally, some variants will offer a 10.25-inch TFT driver display, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera.
Starting Price of Petrol Duster at ₹10.49 Lakh
Currently, the starting ex-showroom price of the new Renault Duster in India is ₹10.49 lakh. Different variants with TCe 100 and TCe 160 petrol engines are available on the company's official website. The pricing for the hybrid version will be announced closer to its launch.
Certified Fuel Efficiency of 18.45 km/l
In March 2026, Renault announced that the new Duster's TCe 160 turbo petrol version achieved an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 18.45 km/l. However, the actual mileage of the hybrid model will depend on its unique powertrain and driving conditions.

With the introduction of the hybrid Duster, Renault aims to attract customers looking for a powerful SUV design combined with high ground clearance and better fuel efficiency.
