Relief from Heat Expected as Rain Approaches India
Rising Temperatures Across India
The summer season in India is starting to show its effects, with temperatures rising consistently from north to south. Many people are finding the daytime heat increasingly unbearable. However, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that relief from the heat is on the horizon. According to officials, several states are likely to experience rainfall in the coming days, which will lead to a drop in temperatures and provide significant relief from the heat.
Delhi-NCR to Experience Rain
The weather department has announced that a new 'Western Disturbance' will affect northwestern India starting March 14. This system is expected to bring light rain to Delhi and its surrounding areas. On March 15, the skies over Delhi-NCR may be overcast, with light drizzles anticipated in regions like Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram. This rainy spell could continue until March 17, with the possibility of thunderstorms occurring in the morning or afternoon. Wind speeds are expected to be around 10 kilometers per hour, and light clouds may persist in the sky today.
Rain Alert for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar
A rain alert has also been issued for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Light rain with thunderstorms is expected in Uttar Pradesh on March 15 and 16, with some areas experiencing strong winds and lightning. Bihar has been issued a heavy rain alert accompanied by thunderstorms, with rainfall expected to begin after March 15 and continue until March 17, along with the likelihood of strong winds.
Other States Anticipate Rain
The weather department forecasts light rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand between March 15 and 18. Heavy rainfall is expected today in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, which may continue until March 15. Additionally, thunderstorms are predicted in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha. Farmers are advised to exercise caution during this weather transition.
Heatwave Conditions Persist in Some Regions
On the other hand, there is no expectation of relief from the heat in Gujarat, the Saurashtra-Kutch region, and southwestern Madhya Pradesh. According to the weather department, these areas may continue to experience heatwave conditions.
