This increase translated to a profit of ₹135.45 per share for investors, marking the largest single-day rise since April 2020. The surge added approximately ₹2 lakh crore to the company's market valuation.

Market Capitalization Exceeds ₹17.5 Lakh Crore

Meanwhile, on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the shares also closed at ₹1,300, pushing the total market capitalization of Reliance Industries beyond ₹17.5 lakh crore.

Investor Enthusiasm Fueled by Q2 Results

The recent surge in Reliance's stock is largely attributed to the positive financial results for the September quarter, released after market hours on Friday. The company reported a 41% year-on-year increase in net profit, reaching ₹25,548 crore, alongside a robust revenue growth of 29%, totaling ₹3.32 lakh crore.

Previous Weak Performance Before the Surge

Prior to this surge, Reliance's stock had been under pressure, hitting a 52-week low of ₹1,152 last month. Throughout the year, the stock had declined by approximately 21%, while the Nifty 50 index experienced an 11% drop. Over the past year, Reliance shares have fallen by about 16%. Despite the positive quarterly results, the stock had not shown consistent upward momentum, with declines following three out of the last five quarterly announcements.

Brokerage Firms Remain Optimistic

International brokerage firms maintain a positive outlook on Reliance Industries' shares. Jefferies has recommended buying the stock with a target price of ₹1,710, indicating a potential upside of around 47% from current levels. Similarly, Nomura and Nuvama have also expressed favorable views on Reliance shares. However, it's important to note that brokerage target prices are merely estimates, and actual market performance depends on the company's financial results, business conditions, and overall market sentiment.
