Record Passenger Count on Kanwar Yatra

Meerut, August 3 - The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) announced on Monday that over 150,000 passengers utilized the Delhi-Meerut Namokar Corridor during the Kanwar Yatra, with the last train departing at 10 PM. This figure surpasses the previous record set on June 8, 2026, when approximately 125,000 passengers used the Namokar service, indicating that Monday's numbers could break that record.

In light of the Kanwar Yatra, the NCRTC has implemented temporary closures of certain entry and exit points, as well as related parking facilities at various stations along the Delhi-Meerut Namokar Corridor from August 4 to August 12, to ensure safety and manage traffic effectively.

According to NCRTC, Gate No. 2 will be closed at several stations in the Meerut section, including Modipuram, Meerut North, MES Colony, Bhainsali, Meerut Central, Brahmapuri, Shatabdi Nagar, Rithani, Partapur, and Meerut South. Additionally, Gates No. 2 and 3 at Begumpul Station will also be closed. Similar closures will occur at designated entry and exit points at Modinagar, Muradnagar, Duhai, Guldhar, and Ghaziabad stations.

The NCRTC has urged passengers to utilize alternative entry and exit points available at the stations and to cooperate in maintaining security measures. The corporation also expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to travelers.
