Real Madrid Secures Marc Cucurella from Chelsea on Six-Year Contract
Real Madrid's New Signing
Real Madrid has officially acquired Spanish left-back Marc Cucurella from Chelsea, signing him to a six-year contract, as announced on Monday.
The club stated, "Real Madrid CF and Chelsea FC have come to an agreement regarding the transfer of Marc Cucurella, who will be part of our team for the next six seasons, until June 30, 2032."
Although the exact transfer fee has not been revealed by Real Madrid, reports suggest it is around £47.5 million, with an additional £4.3 million in performance-related bonuses, potentially totaling £51.8 million.
Cucurella's Career Path and Transfer Details
Cucurella was previously signed by Chelsea from Brighton for £63 million four years ago. During his time at Chelsea, he made 163 appearances and contributed to the team's victories in the Conference League and the Club World Cup.
Despite interest from various clubs, Cucurella favored a transfer to Real Madrid. He was also rumored to be considering a return to Barcelona, as well as moves to Atletico Madrid and Manchester City.
Currently, Cucurella is representing Spain in the FIFA World Cup, where they are set to kick off their Group H campaign against Cape Verde on Monday.
