RCB Triumphs Against Delhi Capitals

RCB's Dominant Victory Over Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026

In the IPL 2026 match held at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced off against the Delhi Capitals. RCB's captain, Rajat Patidar, won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Delhi Capitals struggled, getting bowled out for a mere 75 runs.

RCB chased down the target in just 6.3 overs, significantly boosting their chances of making it to the playoffs. With this victory, RCB now has 12 points from 8 matches. Following the match, Patidar praised his players for their outstanding performance.

Patidar Credits Bowlers for the Win

After the impressive win against Delhi Capitals, Rajat Patidar attributed the success to his fast bowlers. He commended Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood, labeling them as world-class bowlers. Patidar remarked,

“Absolutely, but I am also surprised by the behavior of the wicket, and the credit goes entirely to the bowlers for their performance, especially during the powerplay, with Hazlewood and Bhuvi. The way they bowled in those areas and managed to get some swing early on was fantastic.”

Bhuvneshwar Kumar's ability to generate more swing than usual left the Delhi Capitals batsmen perplexed. Patidar noted,

“I think the swing was normal, and the good thing was that we got early wickets, which kept us ahead in the match.”

Strategic Bowling Decisions

Both Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood bowled three consecutive overs for RCB. When asked why he didn't rotate them after four overs, Patidar explained,

“No, no. I think we had already planned that if we got early wickets, we would use each bowler for three overs and see how the wicket behaves. After that, Suyaash and Sheppy bowled well; I think Suyaash also got good spin, but the way they bowled stump-to-stump was really impressive.”

Patidar's Formula for RCB's Success

Having played 8 matches, RCB has only faced defeat in 2. With two consecutive wins recently, Patidar shared his thoughts, stating,

“Yes, it’s crucial to stick to our routine because we have a long journey ahead. However, I believe we are focusing on one match at a time. The positive aspect, as I mentioned in the last match, is that different players are stepping up and performing well for the team, which is a good sign for us.”

Patidar praised both Hazlewood and Kumar as world-class bowlers, with Kumar currently leading the Purple Cap race. He added,

“Definitely, I think if you are playing T20 cricket on a flat pitch, you need to have a strong bowling unit. Only bowlers can win you championships.”
