Detention of RCB and Event Management Officials
On Friday, authorities apprehended officials from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) along with representatives from DNA Entertainment Private Limited. This action is linked to the tragic stampede that occurred outside Chinnaswamy Stadium, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals and injuries to over 50 others, according to police reports.
Among those being interrogated are Nikhil Sosale, who oversees Marketing and Revenue at RCB, along with Sunil Mathew and Kiran Kumar from the event management firm, as stated by police sources.
In response to the incident, Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah directed the state's Director General of Police (DGP) and Inspector General of Police (IGP) to swiftly detain the representatives from RCB, DNA Entertainment, and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). The Chief Minister cited apparent 'irresponsibility' and 'carelessness' on their part, leading to the filing of a First Information Report (FIR).
