On August 17, during the third day of the first Test match against Sri Lanka at Galle International Stadium, Ravindra Jadeja, India's seasoned all-rounder, reached a significant milestone by claiming his 350th Test wicket.
India concluded their first innings at 462 runs after 116.4 overs. Sri Lanka struggled initially, finding themselves at 90 for 5. However, a resilient partnership of 146 runs between Niroshan Dickwella (80) and Sonal Dinusha (100) helped stabilize the innings. Ultimately, Sri Lanka was dismissed for 284, giving India a substantial first-innings lead of 178 runs.

Manav Suthar was the standout bowler for India, achieving figures of 4 wickets for 76 runs at an economy rate of 3.50 over 21.4 overs. Jadeja contributed significantly as well, taking 3 wickets for 57 runs with an economy rate of 2.70 across his 21 overs.
Jadeja's Unique 350th Wicket
Ravindra Jadeja's landmark wicket was quite unconventional. It occurred during the 64th over of Sri Lanka's innings when Keshara Nuwantha attempted a shot towards cover. The ball deflected off Yashasvi Jaiswal's thigh, who was positioned at silly point, and was caught by Shubman Gill at short cover.
