On Saturday, BJP leader Ravinder Raina expressed his disapproval of National Conference president Farooq Abdullah's comments linking the recent Kulgam terrorist attack to demands for restoring statehood in Jammu and Kashmir. Raina described Abdullah's remarks as highly controversial and unfortunate. Speaking to the media, he emphasized that following the brutal killing of innocent laborers by terrorists in Kulgam, the nation expects political leaders to unite against terrorism rather than make speculative statements.

Raina further stated that Abdullah's comments were irresponsible, especially in light of the tragic events in Kulgam. Raina stressed that every leader should unequivocally condemn the actions of the perpetrators and show solidarity with the affected families.

He argued that politicizing such incidents diverts attention from the real issue of defeating terrorism. Raina called for a unified front against terrorism, asserting that the focus should remain on national unity rather than politicizing tragic events.

Earlier in the day, Farooq Abdullah had called for a thorough investigation into the murders of two migrant workers in the Kulgam district's Kelam area, urging that the culprits be identified. Speaking to reporters, he questioned why such incidents occur whenever there is a push for restoring statehood. Abdullah noted that the identity of the attackers remains unknown and insisted on the necessity of an investigation to uncover the truth behind these attacks.
