Rath Yatra in Sikar Cancelled: What Led to This Decision?
Cancellation of Rath Yatra in Rajasthan
In Bhubaneswar, the planned off-schedule Rath Yatra in Sikar, Rajasthan, has been called off due to the intervention of local authorities. The District Magistrate of Sikar issued a directive prohibiting the procession.
The day before, the Collector from Puri had reached out to the Sikar administration, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the designated tithi (auspicious date) and the traditions of Sanatan Dharma for the Rath Yatra.
Reports indicate that a formal communication was also sent to the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan, alerting the state government about the situation and requesting necessary action.
Originally set for July 10, the Rath Yatra in Sikar faced cancellation after the Tehsildar of Sikar advised the Khatu Shyam Mandal and Biswa Sanatan Dharma Seva Sansthan against organizing the event.
The Puri administration urged Sikar officials to ensure that any Rath Yatra in their district aligns with the date of the annual celebration at Shreekhetra Puri.
