Revocation of Licenses

The district magistrate of Rampur has dealt another blow to senior Samajwadi Party leader Mohammad Azam Khan's family by revoking the firearm licenses of his wife, Dr. Tajin Fatma, and son, Abdullah Azam Khan. This decision was made based on an unfavorable police report. Government advocate Prem Kishore Pandey stated that the report recommending the cancellation of the licenses was submitted to the district magistrate by the Rampur SP on January 1, 2022, under Section 17 of the Arms Act.


Legal Troubles

The report indicated that both Dr. Fatma and Abdullah had been sentenced to seven years in prison related to a case involving fake birth certificates. Additionally, Abdullah faces 29 cases, while Dr. Fatma has 21 registered against her. The report highlighted the potential for misuse of their firearm licenses due to the numerous pending cases against them. The matter was filed in the district magistrate's court and was resolved based on merits. Both individuals possess a .32 caliber revolver.
