The Rajput Mahasabha in Himachal Pradesh has conveyed its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the state government for appointing ten of its office bearers to the newly established Rajput Welfare Board, as announced in a notification dated December 30.


The Mahasabha emphasized that this decision showcases the government's attentiveness to the needs of the Rajput community and represents a significant advancement towards social unity, engagement, and welfare. They also highlighted that this initiative meets a long-held aspiration of the community by offering a robust platform for representation.

  • Kangra District: Kuldeep Thakur (Patron-in-Chief), Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Saryal (Former Vice-Chancellor, Agriculture University Palampur), Major General (Retd.) Dharmveer Singh Rana (President, Ex-Servicemen Wing), Vinod Patial (President, Nagrota Bagwan Subdivision)

  • Mandi District: E.K.S. Jamwal (President), Raja Thakur (Vice President), Haim Singh Thakur (Additional General Secretary)

  • Bilaspur District: Vijay Thakur (General Secretary)

  • Hamirpur District: E.D.S. Dattwal (Vice President)

  • Sirmaur District: Advocate Surender Thakur (Vice President)

  • Shimla District: Anil Thakur


During this occasion, the Mahasabha expressed special thanks to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, expressing optimism that the Rajput Welfare Board will effectively tackle issues related to education, society, economy, and community welfare.


The Mahasabha also assured that the board members will operate with commitment, transparency, and a sense of social responsibility, ensuring that the interests of the Rajput community are well represented to the government. The board members' term will last for three years.
