Ujjain Police Stunned by Gang Member's Surrender
Ujjain News: The Nagda police in Ujjain were taken aback on Thursday when Rajpal Singh, an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, surrendered in Ratnayakhedi village. Rajpal had previously claimed responsibility for firing at the residence of businessman Dilip Singh Rathore in Bilgaon, Khargone, on March 19. He stated that his actions were motivated by Rathore's inappropriate behavior towards young girls and his mistreatment of farmers. This incident was captured on CCTV and circulated widely. Reports indicate that a ransom of ₹10 crore was demanded from Rathore through various phone calls.
Police Harassment of Family
Before surrendering, Rajpal expressed to the media that the police had been harassing his family repeatedly. He mentioned that women in his household were taken to the police station for questioning. As a Rajput, he felt it was inappropriate for women to be treated this way, which led him to decide to surrender voluntarily.
Support for the Oppressed
Rajpal Singh emphasized that the gang's primary mission is to assist the oppressed and vulnerable. He stated that they have always supported those in distress and will continue to do so. He clarified that he could not involve his family in gang matters, prompting his decision to surrender.
Betrayal and Arrests
Although Rajpal has surrendered, he revealed that his brother, Yogesh Bhati, had already been taken into custody by the police. He accused a gang member named Kuldeep of betrayal, claiming that Kuldeep had allied with the police, which has led to the current crackdown on their gang.
Previous Allegations
Rajpal Singh also mentioned that he had been previously interrogated by various national security agencies and police from multiple states. His name had surfaced during investigations related to a rocket launcher attack in Mohali, Punjab, where he and Yogesh Bhati were questioned by the NIA regarding their alleged involvement in sheltering an accused named Deepak Ranga.
