Rajneesh Kumar Agrawal Sworn in as Rajya Sabha Member
On Wednesday, Rajneesh Kumar Agrawal, the state secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh, took his oath as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. The oath was administered by the Vice President of India and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, C.P. Radhakrishnan, at the Parliament House. The Deputy Chairman, Harivansh, and General Secretary, P.C. Modi, were also present during the ceremony. Agrawal's swearing-in followed his election to the upper house of Parliament. He has been actively involved in the organizational activities of the BJP in Madhya Pradesh. Alongside him, Congress leader Mansoor Ali Khan from Karnataka was also elected, taking his oath in English, while Agrawal opted for Hindi. BJP Candidates File Nominations for Rajya Sabha Elections
Prior to this, on June 6, candidates from the BJP officially submitted their nominations for the Rajya Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh. Among those who filed nominations were BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh and party leader Rajneesh Agrawal, both vying for seats in the upcoming elections scheduled for June 18.
Supreme Court Dismisses Congress Candidate's Petition
On June 12, the Supreme Court rejected the petition filed by Congress candidate Meenakshi Natarajan, challenging the rejection of her nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh. The court stated, "We are not inclined to consider this petition, and it is dismissed." Natarajan's nomination was rejected by the returning officer due to allegations that she failed to disclose information regarding an ongoing criminal case against her.
