Rajnath Singh's Manipulated Video Debunked by PIB Amid Rising Tensions in West Asia
PIB Refutes Altered Video of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh
On Tuesday, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) released a fact-check report that dismissed a digitally altered video of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, which had been circulated by Pakistani propaganda accounts. These accounts falsely claimed that Singh supported an Israeli attack on Iran. The PIB's report not only debunked the manipulated video but also shared the original clip, where Singh was discussing an entirely different topic.
Clarification from PIB
The PIB clarified that Rajnath Singh did not make any statements endorsing conflict and urged the public to be cautious of deliberately circulated manipulated videos aimed at misleading people as part of Pakistan's propaganda campaign against India. Amid escalating tensions in West Asia following the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei by Israel and the U.S., India has advocated for peace and stability.
Iran's Response and Regional Tensions
In retaliation, Iran launched ballistic missiles and drones targeting U.S. bases and allies across the region, including Israel, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan, escalating conflict in the Middle East and posing threats to both citizens and migrants. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported ongoing operations targeting significant Iranian military infrastructure, including bases linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
U.S. Military Actions
In a post on X, CENTCOM stated that during these ongoing operations, the U.S. military has destroyed command and control centers of the IRGC, Iranian air defense capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and military airfields. They emphasized their commitment to taking decisive action against imminent threats posed by the Iranian regime.
