Rajnath Singh Calls for Support in Upcoming Elections

On Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh rallied the people of West Bengal, urging them to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the forthcoming assembly elections, emphasizing the slogan 'One Nation, One Constitution, One Flag.' During his address at a public gathering as part of the 'Parivartan Yatra,' he expressed confidence that West Bengal is ready for a transformation, which he assured would be brought about by his party. He described the rally as a 'declaration' of change for the state.

Singh highlighted West Bengal's rich history of heroes and revolutionaries, paying tribute to notable figures such as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee. He remarked that the essence of sacrifice and self-respect is embedded in the soil of Bengal. Observing the enthusiasm of the crowd, he declared that the announcement of 'change' is set to emerge from Bengal. He urged the audience not to hesitate, stating that this gathering signifies a 'declaration' of transformation in the region.

He further emphasized that this land is one of valor and revolution, recalling the words of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, who famously said, 'Give me blood, and I shall give you freedom.' Singh asserted that Bengal is not an ordinary place, as it is the birthplace of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee, who once proclaimed that the nation cannot have 'two constitutions,' 'two flags,' or 'two leaders.' The pledge he made back then was not just a slogan but a commitment. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the central government has fulfilled that promise, ensuring that 'two constitutions,' 'two flags,' and 'two leaders' will never exist in this country. Instead, there will be 'One Nation, One Constitution, One Flag.'

Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee once stated regarding Jammu and Kashmir that the repetition of two constitutions, two leaders, and two flags is unacceptable. Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a jab at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, asserting that the term 'change' reflects the desire to make West Bengal free from 'infiltration and corruption' and to replace the Trinamool Congress government with a BJP-led administration.
