Rajnath Singh Takes Action on Convoy Size

In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent appeal, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has significantly reduced the size of his convoy. This decision comes after PM Modi urged citizens to adopt 'seven appeals' aimed at strengthening the economy by decreasing reliance on imported fuel and embracing eco-friendly alternatives amidst ongoing conflicts in West Asia.

PM Modi's Call for Sustainable Practices

The Prime Minister encouraged the public to minimize petrol and diesel consumption by utilizing public transport, carpooling, and electric vehicles. He highlighted the impact of global turmoil and rising prices during his address. Despite the reduction in convoy size, all necessary security measures under the Special Protection Group (SPG) protocol remain intact.

Amit Shah and Other Leaders Follow Suit

Following PM Modi's initiative, Amit Shah has also decided to decrease the number of vehicles in his convoy while maintaining security protocols. In a bid to protect the environment, PM Modi has instructed officials to incorporate electric vehicles (EVs) into their convoys wherever feasible, without purchasing new cars.

Delhi Chief Minister's Initiative

In alignment with this movement, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has ordered a halt on the use of government vehicles by ministers, legislators, and other public representatives. She has also urged the residents of Delhi to adopt carpooling.

Rekha Gupta's Commitment to Energy Conservation

On Tuesday, in a social media post, Rekha Gupta stated that considering the current global situation, PM Modi has called upon citizens to save petrol and diesel and turn energy conservation into a public movement. Embracing this vital appeal, she announced a decision to limit the number of vehicles used for departmental work. She and her cabinet colleagues, along with all BJP legislators, public representatives, and Delhi government officials, will prioritize carpooling and public transport, using the minimum number of vehicles necessary.
