A Stark Contrast: India vs. Pakistan

Drass: On Sunday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the divergent paths taken by India and Pakistan, stating that while India is advancing in innovation and technology, Pakistan has embedded terrorism into its state framework.

During a ceremony at the Kargil War Memorial, commemorating nearly 27 years since the conflict, Singh pointed out that the two nations have developed in starkly different directions. He remarked that Pakistan's leadership continues to support terrorism, contrasting it with India's commitment to growth.

Singh asserted, "Pakistan has institutionalized terrorism within its government. The lines between military and militants have blurred, with the Army collaborating with terrorist groups. Hence, during Operation Sindoor, we made it clear that India will no longer differentiate between terrorists and the governments that support them."

He noted that the priorities of both countries have become increasingly evident, with India focusing on innovation and development, while Pakistan remains entrenched in cross-border terrorism.

"Today, India is exploring new avenues for innovation, whereas Pakistan is seeking new infiltration routes. India is developing chips, while Pakistan is focused on terror. India is fostering a start-up ecosystem, while Pakistan is building a terror network. India is recognized for its space missions, while Pakistan engages in proxy warfare. India is launching satellites, while Pakistan is sending terrorists across borders," Singh elaborated.

Continuing his comparison, he highlighted India's emergence as a global leader in technology, contrasting it with Pakistan's reliance on extremist networks.

"India is supplying software globally, while Pakistan exports sleeper cells. India is constructing data centers, whereas Pakistan is creating radicalization hubs. India connects the world through UPI, while Pakistan links terrorism with 'hawala' networks. Our paths are fundamentally different. If Pakistan attempts to hinder our progress with its malicious intentions, our courageous armed forces are ready to respond decisively," he stated.

Regarding Operation Sindoor, Singh mentioned that the Indian Armed Forces had effectively countered terrorists and their supporters, sending a clear message that terrorism against India would be met with strong retaliation.

He remarked that the military operation had taught terrorists and their backers a lesson they would not forget.

"Operation Sindoor has demonstrated the consequences for those who threaten India with terrorism. India has the capability to respond to any provocation from Pakistan with a force beyond their expectations. From this platform, I send a clear warning: this is the fate that awaits any malicious actions against India's sovereignty," he added.

Reaffirming the government's stance on relations with Pakistan, Singh dismissed the possibility of extensive dialogue with the neighboring country, stating that any discussions would be limited to the issue of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

"There will be no negotiations with Pakistan. If discussions occur, they will focus solely on PoK, which is an integral part of India that Pakistan has unlawfully occupied," Singh concluded.
