Rajnath Singh Discusses Operation Sindoor
On Thursday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reiterated that India voluntarily halted 'Operation Sindoor' on its own terms, expressing readiness for a prolonged conflict against Pakistan. Speaking at the National Security Summit 2.0, Singh labeled Pakistan as a hub of international terrorism and urged for the eradication of the ideological and political roots of terrorism. He emphasized that during Operation Sindoor, the focus was on those who had attacked India. He clarified that the operation was not stopped due to any decrease in capabilities but was a decision made on India's own terms, stating that the country was fully prepared for a long-term struggle if necessary.
Strengthening Military Capabilities
Singh further noted that the Indian Armed Forces have significantly enhanced their capabilities since then, asserting their strength in case of sudden requirements. He mentioned the 'surge capacity' that allows for an increase in capabilities when needed, stating that this capacity not only existed before but is now stronger than ever. He expressed that there was no need for further elaboration on this matter. Singh referred to 'Operation Sindoor' as a "turning point" that demonstrated to the world that India does not rely solely on diplomatic statements in response to terrorist attacks. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his 'zero tolerance policy' towards terrorism, asserting that under Modi's leadership, no terrorist activity would be tolerated under any circumstances.
A New Era in India's Approach to Terrorism
Nearly a year has passed since 'Operation Sindoor', which symbolizes a new world order. Singh described it as a decisive moment that conveyed to the world that India is no longer a nation that operates under outdated thinking—where terrorist attacks occur on its soil and responses are limited to diplomatic statements. Under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, the government has made it clear that any form of terrorist activity will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
