Chasing a target of 202 runs, RR was propelled by Sooryavanshi's explosive 78 runs off just 26 balls, alongside an unbeaten 81 from Dhruv Jurel. Sooryavanshi's innings included eight fours and seven sixes, earning him the IPL 2026 Orange Cap with a total of 200 runs in just four matches.
Parag Praises Sooryavanshi's Charisma
During the post-match presentation, Riyan Parag expressed his admiration for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, describing him as a beloved member of the team. Parag noted that Sooryavanshi enjoys food and outings, and the team ensures he has what he likes as long as he continues to perform well. "Everyone loves having him around. He enjoys eating and going out, so we make sure he has that. He’s just a kid, and he loves batting, so we support him in that," Parag stated.
Parag Analyzes the Match Performance
Reflecting on the match, Parag highlighted that RR displayed a more clinical approach compared to previous seasons, particularly in their bowling and overall execution. He believed that RCB's score of 201 was slightly above par, suggesting they should have limited RCB to around 170 runs. Parag acknowledged that RR had made some errors by giving batters too much room but emphasized their preparation for the conditions in Guwahati and Jaipur. He stated, "We were well-prepared for any home game and aimed to adapt to different pitches. Once we get a favorable pitch, we will perform even better."
