Statewide Traffic Enforcement Initiative

Jaipur, July 3. In an effort to reduce road accidents, enhance traffic management, and raise public awareness about road safety, the Rajasthan Police has initiated a special enforcement campaign across the state. This initiative, running from July 2 to July 16, 2026, focuses on strict actions against drivers violating traffic rules, including riding without helmets, speeding, illegal parking on national and state highways, and lane discipline violations.

Under the guidance of Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma and the supervision of Anil Palival, the Director General of Police for Training and Traffic, all district police superintendents and deputy commissioners are actively involved in this campaign. The enforcement actions will be complemented by efforts to educate the public about road safety.

Additional Director General of Police (Traffic) Dr. B.L. Meena stated that the campaign emphasizes the necessity of wearing helmets for both riders and passengers, promoting the message that only ISI-marked helmets can provide adequate protection. The goal is to encourage compliance with traffic regulations and ultimately reduce road accidents.

On the first day of the campaign, July 2, a total of 18,477 enforcement actions were carried out statewide. This included 7,104 drivers riding without helmets, 5,133 speeding drivers, 3,082 drivers parked illegally on highways and other roads, and 3,158 drivers violating lane discipline on national highways (6-lane/expressway).

The Rajasthan Police urges the public to adhere to traffic rules for their safety and that of their families. They recommend that both riders and passengers wear helmets while riding two-wheelers, maintain speed limits, use only designated areas for parking, and uphold lane discipline on national highways. The participation of every citizen is crucial in reducing accidents and enhancing road safety.
