Arrest of Shakoor Khan

Shakoor Khan, previously detained on suspicions of espionage for Pakistan, has now been formally arrested by the Rajasthan Police. He has been placed under a seven-day remand. Khan has served as the personal secretary to former cabinet minister Sale Mohammad. Additionally, a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against him.


Details of the Case

The case dates back to May 25, 2025, when an iPhone 13 Pro was reported stolen from the Shantinagar police station area in Jaipur. During the investigation, authorities discovered that the stolen device was being used in Pakistan, with calls made to various Pakistani numbers. Furthermore, there were indications of suspicious conversations occurring through WhatsApp video calls.

Investigators found that the phone had been used to send videos and images of religious sites to contacts in Pakistan, raising alarms among security agencies. The stolen iPhone 13 was eventually recovered from Khan, who is now under scrutiny for his connections to suspicious Pakistani numbers.

An FIR, numbered 04/2025, has been lodged against Shakoor Khan at the Shanti Nagar police station, citing sections 282 and 294 of the IPC, along with section 238B of the Indian Telegraph Act of 1923.
