Jaipur, Oct 6: The State Election Commission has announced a revision in the polling dates for the initial three phases of the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj elections, taking into account religious sentiments and public concerns related to Dhanteras.
The updated timeline indicates that the elections for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members, along with the Panch and Sarpanch positions, have been moved up by one day for the first three phases. The schedule for the fourth phase remains unchanged.
According to the new timetable, voting for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will occur on October 22, October 28, November 3, and November 14. Meanwhile, the elections for Panch and Sarpanch posts are set for October 24, October 30, November 5, and November 16. Previously, the voting for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members was slated for October 23, October 29, November 4, and November 14, while the Panch and Sarpanch elections were scheduled for October 25, October 31, November 6, and November 16.
The Commission has officially advanced the dates for the first three phases by one day.
In the first phase, voting for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections is now set for October 22. Nominations for the Panch and Sarpanch positions will be accepted on October 23, with polling to follow on October 24.
The election for Deputy Sarpanch is scheduled for October 25.
During the second phase, polling for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections will occur on October 28. Nominations for the Panch and Sarpanch posts will be filed on October 29, with voting on October 30.
The Deputy Sarpanch election will take place on October 31.
For the third phase, voting for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti is planned for November 3.
Nominations for the Panch and Sarpanch positions will be accepted on November 4, followed by polling on November 5.
The Deputy Sarpanch election is scheduled for November 6.
The fourth phase's dates remain as originally planned, with voting for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members on November 14, and polling for Panch and Sarpanch posts on November 16.
This revised schedule clarifies the phase-wise polling dates after the Election Commission's decision to adjust the initial three phases.
